Support Staff

Although not licensed funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm.  These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Reese Lewis, Funeral Director's Assistant

Reese was born and raised and currently lives with his family here in  Milton.  He is married to Emma, an RN on the Obstetrics Unit of the Milton District Hospital and they have 2 children.  Connor is a competitive swimmer with the Milton Marlin Swim Team and Devon is a dancer with the Dance Elite School for the Arts.  Reese was raised in the family of a Presbyterian minister and his family are current members of Knox Presbyterian Church on Main St.   Reese volunteers on the Board of Directors for the Milton Marlin Swim Team where he is a Level 2 Official and is the Officials Chairperson for the team.  When spare time allows, Reese enjoys spending time with his family and going on family trips together.

Laurie Gracey, Housekeeping and Reception

A longtime resident of Milton, Laurie has been a valued part of our staff since 2007.  Her assistance with housekeeping and maintenance led to a more active role in assistance with reception, visitation and funeral services.  A member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Milton, Laurie is also active in dog training and is involved in the Newfoundland Dog Club.

Daryl Horlick, Funeral Assistant

Daryl joined the J. Scott Early team in 2013 on a part time basis and enjoys the opportunity to work with families during visitation and services.  Married with two grown sons, Daryl has experience working with the Hamilton Region Victim's Services Unit, in addition to his full time work in the fashion industry.

Michele Brown, Reception and Funeral Assistant

Michele is a longtime resident of Milton, and joined our staff early in 2014.

Ellen Trafford, Hairdresser

Ellen has lived in Milton since 1967 and has worked for J. Scott Early Funeral Home for more than 12 years.  She is a professional hairstylist who's full time employ has been with "Danielas Place" for the past 25 years.  We are fortunate to have her available to tend to the hairdressing needs of our families.  In addition to her work as a hairstylist, often visiting clients in their home if needed, Ellen is also a full time Mom to Daniell and Joe.

Chris Harris, Caterer

Chris is a well known caterer in Milton who provides luncheons and hot meals for many local clubs, and organizations.  We are indeed fortunate to have her preparing funeral luncheons, both in our lounge and at outside locations for our families.
